Greetings from Central Illinois!

Hey everyone! My first real metal detector is coming in the mail. I got a cheapy ACE 150 to start out with. I know a lot of people recommend the step up to the 250, but I couldn't justify it at the moment, not knowing if I would get hooked or not.

I'm from a small town in central Illinois that holds a festival every year and I leave about 100 ft from the park that hosts over 20000 (10 times the population of the town!) people over the weekend. I'm hoping to be able to find some lost jewelry or just old coins! Or old anything!

During the festival there are also a lot of vendors of many many things so who know's what can be found.

Anyways, I look forward to the search, and I'm going into it with low expectations.

I got into metal detecting through a topic on kitcomm.com (I buy silver and gold when I have the money) and it seemed interesting. Did a little more research and got more and more interested and found this forum!
