Not sure what this could be. It has green colors both dark and semi transparent with some black pieces suspended in a few places. It also has what looks like silvery-lead pieces throughout ( not sure if these are magnetite).. It is also magnetic....All opinions welcome...Thanks to all in advance...

hmm, I'm waiting to see what the experts say. Nice piece. It would help if you said
in which state you found it.

Thanks mamabear....I'm in the beautiful state of British Columbia...Just having some fun with you..

I am in the province of British Columbia Canada.....The silvery-lead pieces on this rock have a blue luster to them (close up picture attached)

Looks like olivine. Could have some platinum in it, among other things.

It certainly does, thanks Jim, I will check up on that. Along with gold & silver we also have found small pieces of platinum here so will have to have a closer look. It also has some iron-reddish scale type material on it that I haven't an idea what that is so far.... Thanks again Jim....

Thanks CK, I'm sure the experts will chime in....

Seems Green Antigorite Serpentine,
Not a mineral but contains small amount of proxene and amphibole family minerals,as well as olivine, magnetite, calcite, dolomite, magnezite, nickel, platinum, zinc.

Turkish Man, thanks so much..You nailed it as further reading confirmed as you say. With all the dark & lighter greens I also read where serpentine high quality pieces have been carved and sold as jade..
Thanks again.....

Serpentine will easily be scratched with a knife. Olivine won't.

Definitely looks like the serpentine material from Clear Creek & The San Benito Mtns. in Central Cali. I was just there last weekend that this material is everywhere, along with green garnets, jade, nephrite, etc.
