I say green because I have not ever even searched yet. I am researching info about which Mdetector to buy for my birthday gift. I do not like technology, and detectors make me nervous, but I am trying to learn, because I like the thrill of the search. We discovered Geocaching a couple years ago, but that has fizzled out a bit.

I homeschool 4 boys--oh, wait, one is grown and gone, but the other 3 and I are looking for some travel adventures. We discovered that there is gold in Texas recently, and I am due a birthday gift, so I think that is what I want to get me.
I have looked at some reviews, but am more confused than before.

Hello from South Texas.

Man! What a set-up. You find the treasure, the boys dig it up. I want into that.

Look at the Garrett Ace 250 or 350.

The 250 is a great beginners model. It’s easy to use and works great. It will find the good stuff.

The 350 is a slightly better model. Garrett is the best for costumer service and to top it off, they are a Texas company.

I got the Ace 250 and with the $100 I saved on not getting the 350. I used on a Pro Pin Pointer.

A pin pointer is a must have. You could spend hours trying to find a little rusty piece of metal in a hole. The pin pointer will speed up finding it, so more time can be spent swinging the detector.

One boy can be in charge of using the MD and another can be the pin pointer, while the other digs (teaches them team work). You job will be to take all the good stuff for yourself. LOL
