Howdy T-netters. I posted this item from last weekends field of iron hunt. It's a sizable chunk of what appears to be melted or natural copper material. It has a wonderful splotchy green patina to it and I just don't know if it's a man made melted mess of copper or a natural formation. I am thinking man made but, not sure why they would be melting copper back in the day. I have found two similar "nugget" type finds of copper or brass that appear either melted or natural but, don't know why old timers would be melting such metals. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
