I got back out again today after I got off work. The temperature dropped 10 from the time I left work, to the time I left to detect!

It was cold and windy, but the ground is thawed so I didn't want to waste it!

My last post had the 5 dimes and sterling ring from Friday. Today I added an SLQ and a surprisingly heavy sterling earring along with tokens and an unfired rifle casing.

The tokens are 2 cut/bent tax tokens and a square ivory soap. Both bullet casings are unfired. The pistol is a 38 S&W, the rifle I don't know. It's marked FA 10 08.

Another great hunt man! You're on a nice roll

Congrats on a great day!! (at least by my standards)!!

Hello Jason in Enid. Real nice digs! Tokens, silver, jewelry, Indians, and ammo...most of my favorite things to dig...'ya gotta love it.

BTW the rifle shell marked "F A 10 08" I believe is from the Frankford Arsenal, a military munitions manufacturer, the "10 08" stands for the mfg date of October 1908.

Thanks for posting and good luck. C9

Very nice finds! Congrats on the silvers and IHCs. GL&HH.

Loads of silver awesome! That's a great hunt in my book! Congrats!

Very nice finds indeed. I need to get down your way and do some detecting with you. I have relation near Sardis.

Sardis is quite a ways away from me, but I actually have family down that way too.

Awesome finds!, you mopped up the silver and I really like that square token!

Looks like the cold didn't slow ya down!

It did eventually! The weather forecast that day was for mid 40s and sun. We got 30s, clouds and LOTS of wind! I kept saying to myself, "one more silver, just one more silver and I'm going home" The sterling earring was my second and I called it quits with 2 hours of daylight left. My hands were red and almost numb.

I kept telling myself that I'm an idiot for freezing like this in the search for silver. Then I kept thinking about all those poor hunters up north wishing they had my conditions and I kept plugging on!

Great weekend, Jason. I assume you are in Enid, Ok? When I lived in OKC 20+ years ago, I worked with a fellow in construction from Enid. Great guy. I was an apprentice and they paired me with him because he was a journeyman. I know it gets cold there too....I worked outside with wind chills of -33 F one year. Get out while you can.
