Ok, so I already know that Hallowen has passed, but this post is about the hunt I made on that frightening Friday. So grab your masks and your goody bags and we'll go a trick-or-treatin.
First off, I must beg pardon for taking so long to get around to making this post in the first place. A week ago yesterday (last monday), was NOT a good day for me. Almost late for work, short handed at work be it from sickness or vacations or simply poor management, getting more work piled up on me than I could safely or even realisticaly finish by my boss. Oh yeah.. and my dear wife's repeated requests to fet out the Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations. I was in a bad mood already when I got home from work, dirty, tired and frustrated. Well after I took a shower I went to the garage to fetch the step ladder so that I could gain entry into the attic and bring out the decorations. As the last box was lowered to the floor, the ladder got scooted a bit. I yelled down for my wife to"HOLD THE LADDER".. what she heard was " I'm coming down the ladder." Well my right foot caught the top of the ladder, but it slipped and the ladder toppled over, BANG! putting a hole in the wall.Oh I didn't fall, far anyway. I caught myself on the lip of the access, with just my legs and feet hanging down. Val moved the ladder back under me and I climbed back down.. and NOT in a good mood! Seeing the hole in the wall *explicatives deleted* I kicked the ladder.. which fell over in the other direction and put a hole in THAT WALL TOO! ARRGH! Then I punched at the hole(s) and simply made them bigger.. while venting a little steam. And then the argument began! Needless to say, the decorations did NOT go up that night. Didn't sleep that much that night either.
Well tempers did eventually simmer down and appologies made.. but by that time it was just WAY too late for me to try to get any sleep before going to work the next day. So, I called in a vacation day and used the day to repair the holes in the wall(s). I didn't get to go detecting that Tuesday, but I did get out that Friday, morning and afternoon. Friday morning early. Val (my wife) and I went out to Jacobson Park where they have one of those HUGE wooden "Imagineering" tot lots. I found a couple of dollars in clad, a toy truck, and some pull tabs.. oh yeah.. and a GOLD RING!!! I was on the opposite side of the tot lot's structures so my wife didn't see my rendition of the Chicken Dance <grin> The ring looks to be a class ring from "Stanton Prep College" The year of 1988 making this ring some 20 plus years old.

DANG IT ALL!!!! I hit the wrong freakin' key and this post got lost.. everything after the first picture. I'm in too much pain to type it all in again so it will either have to wait or you can make up your own stories for the pics of my other finds. Sorry gang.

Happy Hunting

I am laughing at your expense Fro, forgive me. It is the way you told it. lol

My dad was getting decorations down one year and my mom saw a foot come threw the ceiling.

Good find on that GOLD ring! Gives me faith in tot lots again.

Walls can be fixed...people are harder to repair. Just love your wife! [smiling and nodding]!

FRODOV. been waiting for a post. like the way you put your words. were kinda hard on the better half. my you have joy the rest of the year. and start off the new year with a bang.

Nothing like gold to sooth the pain of a bad day. Love the ring. Someday post a pic of your used car lot. Always look foreward to reading your posts. HH

Frodov...I reallly enjoy your posts. I spent many summers with my Dad in Princeton,KY. (caldwell county)...and enjoy reading all that you have to say...you are a gas!! I know I would have done the exact thing with the ladder. I once got into a disagreement with the wife and went out to work on my Jeep, well, the hood fell on top of my head!! My wife was trying so hard not to laugh and I was beyond pissed...she told me "see...God was listening to you"...after that I just laughed.....it was all I could do even though my head was killing me!! Stuff happens! I will eventually get back to KY. in our future to enjoy the things I was very fond of growing up....good surroundings, the great countryside, and it's love of God, and the great people like yourself. I get to see some of Ky landscape when you show it on your posts...and it just brings back great memories!! One of the things I like the most about your posts is how relatable you are....I would be lucky to know you bro....anyway...have a great rest of the week...brinker52.

Frodov,

Hey Frodov, sorry to hear about your accident and the hole in the wall, it sounds like something that would happen to me. Righteous finds though!

Hey Frodov, great post as we've come to expect from you ! When you've had kind of a difficult stretch

like that , a gold ring sweetens the deal considerably. Way to go buddy ! Argentium.

Well whether it was directly related to the "ladder incident" or not, I'm still paying for my temper tantrum that night. Oh the wall has been repaired and my darling wife and I are on good terms, but I'm in pain from either a pinched nerve or some other cause. I wonder if it was related to the tantrum because it was nearly a week after that that the pain surfaced and has gotten progressivly worse. Today I made my fourth trip to the (a) doctor's office because of it. Today I had an MRI done and I'll have to follow that up with a visit to my primary care physician on Monday. But for now I'm eating Lortabs and muscle relaxers like candy. <groan> So far I've missed at least one weeks work and possibly more before it's better. I've not been able to sleep because of the injury either.. Oh sure, a cat nap here and there, but a couple of hours a night does not make for a happy camper! Especially when those two hours are ten minutes here, and five minutes there.. the couch, the recliner, the bed, the couch in the basement.. .you get the picture. I just can't get comfortable anywhere.. and when I do doze off, the first time I move I'm blasted back to wakefullness by a jolt of pain. I've not been able to shave either.. starting to look like Grizzly Adams if you know what I mean. Oh well.. this too shall pass.. I HOPE.. and SOON!
Happy Hunting!

that is a nice ring frodov... i always look forward to your post'

Why thank you Allen. I keep hearing that from so many people that I'm beginning to get a swelled head. <smile> I too like the latest gold ring that I found. I'm trying to locate and contact it's owner but that's moving slowly for now. As for other posts, well I've been laid up for the past two weeks with a neck injury. Well, Ok, not so much an injury as a "condition". After several doctors visits and x-rays, and most recently an MRI revealed that I have a couple of bulging disks in my neck that have put a pinch on the bundle of nerves to and from my right shoulder and arm. OUCH! I've not been able to sleep laying down in over a week, and still wont untill the muscles in my shoulder and neck have relaxed enough, LONG enough, for the nerves to recover some. I've been off work for over a week and as for metal detecting... NUH UH! *sigh* I am going stir crazy! I miss being able to sleep in my bed, I miss going to work even, and of course, I miss getting out and swining my detector looking for buried treasures. <smile> Oh well.. another week or so I guess and then I'll be back out there hunting. Till then, I guess I'll just have to enjoy the muscle relaxers and pain meds that my doctor has me on. <grin>

As for the rest of you... HAPPY HUNTING EVERYONE!
