I was able to get out and hunt with my friend Brian for four days and found some of my best coins so far;
1898 Barber quarter (it looked like a can in the hole - so I thought "lets go ahead and scratch it two or three times" - oh well)
1887 Seated Liberty Dime - my oldest silver to date
1917 Merc - no mm (dang it)
1936 Merc
1947 Rosie
1915 Buff
No Date Buff
1881 Indian - my oldest coin
13 Wheats - oldest 1917

Sorry they don't look better but I'm not much into cleaning.

I'm looking forward to doing it again soon! Thanks Brian!!

Congrats on the great haul of treasure. I want to be just like you when I grow up!

Here is a closer look at the seated dime... in case anyone wonders...I just happened to have a pic of Smittyman's dime, because I am a silver stalker...I like to sneak in and snap pics of other people's silver coins.

See ya soon. GL&HH.

Nice haul of treasure.

I'd say that was 4 days well spent.

Great finds, congratulations

Nice digs . Thanks for the pics

sweet silver, looks like you had a great time, the dime looks awesome. they all look great to me, would love to have them any day

I have to echo what Tom said. I want to be like you when I grow up too!!! Hopefully we'll find some goodies like that when we take our trip up to NY this fall.

Congrats to you. That seated is just awesome. I was going to take a pic of Cjon455 today with his admirer following him around like Tom takes of you, but I didn't get the chance. I thought you guys would think it funny.

Tom would anyway! I'm convinced he sics those kids on me somehow.

And thank you all for your kind words!!!

Update on two of the coins;

the Barber quarter has an "S" mint mark.
and the "no date" buffalo is a 1917 with no mint mark.

Hey Old Dude... There is nothing funny about my plan... I use those kids to slow the old man down. If I didn't do that, he would have every piece of treasure in the Tri-Counties area!!! He is a relentelss "treasure ferret"!!!!

I think Chris does that to me too, Tom. He picks places with older people and he knows I can't be rude to them. I stop hunting to talk to them and he gets my finds, lol.
Just this morning, I stopped at a great looking old farm house and asked the old fellow if I could hunt. He told me no and I wound up staying there talking to him for 30 minutes anyway. I thought maybe he'd change his mind, so I asked again if I could hunt. He smiled, shook his head no again. 15 minutes later, I left, lol!
