I met up with friends and forum members Ed (EdUpstateNY) and Tony (Park Pirate), who made the long trek from New York to spend the day hunting a couple of old parks in my hometown. The weather was absolutely perfect, especially following heavy rain the day before. Hopes were the rain would unlock some keepers for each of us.

The first park we hit produced nothing more than wheat pennies. Hoping to avoid a shutout, the second one we hit is the one I have dubbed Seated Park, for the 35 Seated coins I have found there through the years. No Seateds this day, but I had the rare good fortune to find a 2 Barber dime spill two separate times. The first held 1908-D and 1913 and the other 1900 and 1905, all in very nice shape. Sandwiched in the middle was an 1899 V-Nickel, in excellent shape. Also found a couple of nice pins- a CYO and what appears to be a nursing pin.

Following an exhausting day of digging, we all enjoyed a huge Portuguese steak dinner. This has become an annual event for the 3 of us, which we're planning to make happen in the spring as well. Life's short, get out there with friends, laugh and find stuff!
