I hit my usual TS today and it had been a long while since I got some good Silver. They had a lot of new silverplate put out and I scored the following. A small Shell pattern bowl for $0.99. Only mark was on the front and it was a Spanish star hallmark for greater than .917 Silver. Light but beautiful. View attachment 1543581View attachment 1543582
I then spied this M. W. Brandt 800 silver serving spoon. Real solid piece with Hamburg Germany Silver castle hallmark. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1517339186.895315.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1517339197.363546.jpg
The best find was this A. Michelsen Copenhagen Denmark sterling 1943 Dove Of Peace Christmas spoon. I guess the gold plating threw them off since it is clearly marked Sterling. These spoons go for some big money. So glad that the TS is producing silver again. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1517339218.509268.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1517339235.436596.jpg

Great finds! For some reason the first two pictures did not post?

Gotta love the lack of .925 stamped on silver dropped off at the thrift stores. I'm sure the sorters have be told if it doesn't say sterling or .925 it's silver plated. You gonna sell it or save it?

Keep it until silver hits $30.

Very nice finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

That mark has got to be easy to miss.

It sure was and I didn’t know the starHallmark existed. I found it on 925–1000.com under Spain.
