My brother, my dad and I headed down to the standby river bottle dump that we have spent tons of hours digging out, and it took us a while to get to the right layer. After about an hour of constant ketchups and slick medicines, we finally started to get to some older glass. The first good one to come out was a hand blown cylinder fosgates, which aren't really rare, but it had some age and embossing so we knew we were close to the good stuff. A few moments later my brother was saying he had a teal bottle in the hole! I was super excited because we don't have many teal bottles! It turned out to be a Rumford Chemical Works bottle! We were extremely excited with just the two we had pulled out so far, because normally we leave this dump with two or three keepers. Then literally seconds later my brother sees cobalt in the hole! It was a WMR Warner & Co bottle that looks to be a chemist bottle. This is probably gonna be my favorite bottle in our collection, because I just love the way it looks! Then moments later we got the Mrs. Winslow's soothing syrup bottle and the cobalt poison right next to each other. We kept digging and after a while of nothing we started hitting ketchups again, which was weird, but we figured if we keep digging we would get back into the right level. After a while we started finding pieces of some older bottles including hutches and embossed meds. Then Richard (my brother) sees the neck of a blob top sticking out the wall! The immediate thought was "please don't be broken", because most of the time they are. He Pulled it out and I realized it was a lighter yellow color than most of the dark brown blob tops we have and a new variety of the James H Holmes bottle that we have found before! We instantly searched for cracks, and there is only one hairline crack towards the bottom, but we didn't care! We were really happy with the day we had, so we filled in the hole we dug and headed home!
