great book about the frontier of western pa

The book is called Flood Tides Along The Allegheny. It was written back in the early 40's by a man named Francis R.Harbison. It is a wealth of knowledge about who were the first settlers west of Pittsburgh before and after the Revolutionary war. The book is being kept in publication by DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution)

I forgot to add that this book is a great starting point if your interested on looking for old Revolutionary war stockades and forts that have been lost. It also talks about the first familys that settled in western Pa. great source of info for the detectors of this area
