Howdy Folks,
I was inspired by JB’s post about hunting a high school gravel
parking lot. I know that most of my gold comes from younger
women. From high school on up. So I decided to hunt where
tha high school kids park during school.
Tha gravel is like SB2. It packs hard. Thay use it as a base for
paved roads.
As soon as I started, I realized that tha rock that this gravel was
crushed from is highly mineralized. These are what some people
call hot rocks.
I burried a quarter under 3” of this gravel and could not get a signal
in tha disc mode.
The only way I could ground balance my Euro Sabre was to burry
a penny about 1” deep and swing tha coil across it, at tha same
time, turn tha ground balance until I could tell tha difference between
tha target and tha gravel.
That seemed to work alright. I could still get small targets, even
in tha Gravel From HeII.
Every now and then I could even detect things below tha gravel.
That’s how I found this old brass lock.
But it was really hard to dig so I mainly concentrated on shallow
targets. Here’s what I found.
This is tha tiniest gold chain I ever found. I could not get tha knots
out of it. It’s squashed anyway. Tha gravel is rough on stuff.

It was cold, windy and spittin rain. When snow flakes started,
I quit.
