While I am not an art expert, that painting does not match his painting style, except perhaps when he was young and had not developed a style. (My dad knew him in the 30's. In fact, the house my dad was born in, appears in one of Wood's paintings.)

It depends upon how much they want. If we are talking $50 and you happen to like the painting go for it. In fact, if he wants a lot of money and you like the painting, go for it.

But, if they are asking a lot of money, and you want it only because you think it's worth a lot of money, run, do not walk to the nearest exit.

In fact, not telling us the asking price makes it hard to give an informed opinion. Likewise the very small photo reduces accuracy.

There is very little chance it is a genuine Wood painting. However, if it is, there will be documents to show that, just as you can get papers on a registered cow or dog. I know because I have a niece artist, and once she got invited to visit Europe as a known Mexican artist, she started supplying authentication certificates on her paintings.

If no papers, I can virtually guarantee you it is not a genuine Woods painting. $50 yes, more, no. Unless you really like it for itself.

ah thankyou for your reply piegrande he wanted £25 for the painting but i didnt ask if he had the papers probably has gone now but at least i know what to ask for next time i see a painting God Bless for your great advise have a lovely day.8-)
