Angelo came over and told me what a great deal he made at school. Traded some Pokemon's for it.

He said it was worth a lot of money. I laughed in his face and told him he got ripped. Of course, he will not take my word for it.

Tried to find some proof on Google. Zilch.

The coin is the size of a silver Liberty and both sides are identical other then the obvious scratches made with a file to make it look "authentic" The word COPY is also on there and the date 1922.

Angelo is 9, and he bet me $20.00 that it was real. However, he will not take my word for it cause he thinks Grandpa does not know S&#T. Has anyone seen one of these? I don't want to lose $20.00 to the turd so stir me in the right direction.

Tony

I guess it's always good for coin tosses.

...as long as you chose 'Heads' each time ;D

two faced 1922 peace dollar copy -- a bat man movie "two faces" prop coin * thus the copy on it -- bat mans foe (two faced) used the two headed coin to "flip" for making up his deranged mind * both sides being heads --well you get the drift --- since half his face was disfigured one side of the two faced coin was "defaced" also.

its a real "copy" of the mock up movie coin but not of a real 1922 peace dollar of course --since no "real" peace dollar would have the word "copy" stamped on it .-- nor would it have two faces .

Way to go, Nick!

By the way, a "COPY" stamp on a repro coin indicates that it was made sometime after passage of the Hobby Protection Act of 1973, which required that numismatic replicas be marked in that manner.

And since $54.95 is "a lot of money"— as I'm sure Angelo will agree! ;D— give the kid his $20, Tony!

lol...how'd you bet him the $20.00, with his value of "alot"? Or, was it based on, "it's real"?
What's a lot?
What's "real"?

It's a real, "Two Face Custom Silver Dollar Coin Replica"

lol

$54.00 for 9 yo isn't bad...but, what were the Pokemon's worth?

I think it was a great trade!

since its a $54.95 + tax and shipping ( thus $70 easy) item --I don't think the kid got ripped off for a few "poke man cards"--- and true while its not a "real" two headed coin peace dollar ---it is a valuible item per se (a real "prop" coin copy worth $70)--so pony up the $20 bucks --(the kid got ya by "accident") ;D

You can buy them on eBay for less than a buck. Probably costs more to ship than to buy. Hope he didn't trade any real good cards for it...

yes but those "dollar" two faced "hong kong made" el cheapo knock offs are not the scarred high quailty copies like this one is . -- note the scarring pattern on the high dollar 54.95 one and his coin. they "match".

THANKS ALL! That was quick.

Guess I'll pay up. Eventhough it's not silver. But just for practice I'll bop him a good one across the noggin. I have no clue as to which Pokemon's he traded, and I don't think I'll even ask. You guys can't imagine how many EBAY Pokemon lots I have purchased for him.

Damn is great being a Grandpa.

Thanks again,

Tony

I wouldnt pay 54 bucks for that its not even silver. ::) But the trade for cards was good. Maybe you can find one on eBay a lot cheaper like someone said. But it is interesting and good ID Nick. He can take the 20 and buy some more Pokemons. :D

This incredibly accurate 1:1 scale Two Face replica coin holds all the fine detail of the damaged two-headed 1922 Peace Dollar carried by Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight. Each coin is painstakingly hand cast in solid metal for its realistic weight, feel, and silver-like luster, and then a finish is applied to make the "good" side look realistically aged, and to give the "bad" side it's infamous burned look. Due to the difficult process in making this custom prop, and small production run, this item is extremely limited.

This was an excellant trade. If the boy had brought home a genuine 1922 Peace Dollar in this condition it would be worth $15 at full retail. With the damage it most likely would end up in the dealer's junk box at "your choice $10". Instead he got a limited edition collectible from the movie Batman. Downrange, as supplies dry up, he will have a "second tier" collectible. I call "first tier" those which include all original packaging and "second tier" those which are genuine and popular but missing the packaging. Some folks call first tier MIB for Mint-In Box. siegfried schlagrule
