There are no valuable minerals in the Colorado river in the Grand Canyon. You could pan the rest of your life and never get a speck. The river is part of the Grand Canyon National Park and has been off limits to mining for years.

The article you are quoting has nothing to do with mining the river or the National Park. The million acres is well outside the park boundaries.

The author of that story is better known for stories like "Why Does Bob Dylan Hate Merle Haggard?" and "Fatboy Slim on Woodstock, Rehab and David Byrne's Dance Skills". Sometimes you just have to consider the source. :laughing7:

Real problem is one out of a thousand that reads that garbage knows what you do or bothers to look it up for themselves, so it's mission accomplished and gospel for the masses. The more folks click on it the higher up the search engine ladder it goes and the truer it becomes. "It has to be true, I read it on the internet" is killing us.

They have been operating a small uranium mine on Indian land on the south side of the Grand Canyon for over 25 years & few people have any clue it's even there... which proves it's being done right & not hurting anyone. All mining isn't bad just because the practices of a couple generations ago were.
