I found a bent 36th Annual Encampment metal/badge the other day. It is 1902 Washington DC encampment. My question is what were these given out for? Were they just given to the veterans or who all got these items?
The veteran reunion/encampment badges were issued to veterans and the public. The ones that were issued to veterans will designate it as such and those available to the public would be designated with a 'Souvenir' hanger.
Thanks Diver, Following is a photo of the badge, I did not find the hanger for it though. I have found very few example like it on the web, what I have found is that it came with a GAR that it hung from.
