I acquired this coin earlier this year and have been wondering of its actual value. If any one can give me a good honest idea, i would appreciate it.

This series makes HUGE jumps between MS-60 and MS-63 as there are relatively few high end examples.
This is because they weren't received very well when they first came out in 1908.

I can't really tell much from the photos as far as grade though.

If you don't see any wear at all on the indians headdress and cheekbone, I would definately consider sending it in for grading. Get it in a holder soon before it gets scratched.

Retail value in MS 60 is about $335 or so. MS-63 jumps to $1400.

It is a beautiful coin and I do not see any wear on it. But, when if you send it in for grading they will. All graders are very tough on gold. I have sent out plenty quarter eagles and never had one come back better than EF-45. You coin does look a bit nicer and I would call it MS but who knows.

nice find, wow wish I could found that one, very nice.

Looks MS to me.. You could realize $300-$700 for it.. Definitely send it in to pcgs or ngc...

Looks like a little rub on the cheekbone, probably AU.

I would say AU -- rub on cheek-- marks in front of chin -- and nick behind jaw in braids. You could get it graded but then it will be sealed at an AU grade and book is $235. or you could possibly sell it for near MS and get $300.

just my opinion
