This was dug this morning from a grade school site that had been demolished. The school was torn down about 3 months ago.
The school had been built in 1957 and the building had never been added on to, like most schools.
This was found close to one of the baseball backstops.

It looks to me like a set of barbells and a dollar sign in a wheat stalk. Both sides are stamped the same.

It is about the size of a razor blade, but thicker, and it detected as a quarter. No markings on it, if it is gold or not.
The hole looks like a rivet or screw attached it to something....or it could have been lost from a necklace.

Anybody know what it could be?????

The "barbells" are part of the razor blade design. It looks like a piece of drug culture paraphernalia. The dollar sign would represent the money to be made in drugs, and the razor blade shape was used because of it's association with cocaine. It probably fell of some punks necklaces in the 80's.
