Purchased a GPX 4000 with two mono coils and two DD coils as well as the Azo wrap, Azo backpack, two extra battery packs, and two extra poles on the old Craigslist for 1250. I haven't found a lot of information about pricing in regards to this unit but assume I made out on the better end. Am I wrong or was that an appropriate price the the rig?

1250 what mate, USD, Quid, Dinar.

If Kuna then you got a great deal.

That's 1250 American pesos. The gentleman's father passed away and he had no interest in keeping or using it. Living in the bay area, the hobby isn't as prevalent so I'm guessing with him just posting it on Craigslist he didn't get much interest.

You would need to test the machine and make sure it worked before anyone could really say if you got a good deal or not.

Do you MD?

Saw a completed listing from nevada in 2012 for twice that price. hope it works!

Can confirm that while he didn't exactly know the specifics of it, he did bring it in to a shop and had them test and tune is what he called it. I verified through receipt that this occurred. The machine looks literally brand new. I could not find any signs of use indicating it was used for more than a day or two.

Those are High End Machines .

Tuff to learn IMO , That "Check-up" receipt would give me a-lot of Good Vibes that it works.

I assume it's older the 2012 reply say's it's at-least that old "Daaaa" I know.

Think they came out with a model 4500-4800-5000, So with it's age & the extras & If it Works , u did well.

I'm guessing the guys Dad used it as a Gold hunting Machine being near SF CA, It would make me a good Relic hunter but there are only so many places I could use it around here, I'd have to hire a team of Diggers. lol

Good to have JIC tho.

You got a great price on a SUPER machine. I sold mine when I moved up to the 5000, several years ago for $2, 700.00 :occasion14:

Ahhhh'
Someone with some GPX Experience.
I'd take TS's word for it.
Sounds like a Win-win Then.

I'm pretty happy with the purchase. I have been considering taking the hobby more seriously than the low end units I have used in the past so I took the plunge. I completely understand it's over my head a bit but I read well and found what appears to be a great avenue to approach this business. I prospect up in gold country and am quite excited about having a good quality unit to work with. We have a metal detector shop down here I intend on bringing it to just so I can have the fuzzies of it's operation. When I tell you it looks brand new, it literally looks like it was taken out of plastic yesterday. We can mark this as my official serious start to an exciting hobby. Having just found the site, I'll be posting some pictures and stories of some of the "street trash" I have found in San Francisco if I find the right venue, you guys wouldn't believe what folks trash around here, most recently being a perfect condition blood stained Japanese WW2 good luck flag with all unit information written on it. Anyway, I'll have a lot of questions about the new machine in time but for now I need to get it professionally inspected myself.

The finds widely range. I'm not a hoarder by any means, a lot of the stuff I resell. Recently purchased an Wurlitzer jukebox that "didn't work" for 250 at a thrift store.....turns out it just needed a new capacitor on the power supply. Near mint condition with all original records.....and best of all the change box had about 80 dollars face value in a mix of silver quarters and old half dollars. No complaints at all here!
