I found a spot recently that look like it is worth sampling. Two days later I return with my gear and find a barricade in the road. The Black Hills is the most unfriendly national forest I have ever explored. All they care about is collecting money from the cattle industry and the logging industry. All other users get blocked.

AMEN brother! Same story, we had found an interesting place to do some prospecting and the road we literally DROVE on to get there twenty years ago is now locked gates and the road is now a "hiking trail". Grrrr!

Same in the GSM (Great Smokey Mountains) and the Cherokee Nat'l forest. Said they cannot afford to maintain the roads anymore. If the gov owns it, you can be sure there is either; oil, gas, mineral or treasure on the land, POSTED KEEP OUT.
