Hi everyone !
There's a saying in gold prospecting ," You'll find gold where it's been found before". So with that mindset , i went to a local Jr.High school where i found a 14k earring .

Yesterday i got out for two hours before it got to hot , no shade in the middle of a football field ! I almost didn't dig it (Don't we all say that?) because it was a broken tone and sounded like a zinc or in this field nickles come out a red color and also give a broken tone ( fertilizer ?). But the tone was more low than high ,so i dug. Beep and dig , no VDI. About 5 inches down in very dry dirt ,out pops this little shiny gold thing.
Felt heavy , I looked and looked but couldn't find any marks. Bling i thought and tossed it in my bag. When i got home i broke out the jewelers loupe , gave it a good cleaning and still no mark. But it looked good with the loupe so next an acid test , already passed the magnet test.
Here it is three minutes into the 10k test.
14k acid dissolves the mark.
Looking better !
So today i took it to my jewelers and had him put it in his gold testing machine.
And its REAL ! 4.5 grams of 10k ! YEAH BABY! 6th piece of gold this year. WHOO HOO!
Two hours work.
$7.53 in clad. dog tag , broken pin and the GOLD !
