Well, thanks for the congrats. And...err...yes, I do know that the $2 bill is still printed and used. People like me use them on a daily basis. I expect that note to sell for at least 5x face. The fancy serials on $2 notes as well as $2 star notes sell for a pretty penny, that is the main reason I try to look through/spend as many of them as I can. I ain't gon' lie...I'm in it for the profit. Well...that and there's a couple more old U.S. note series $2 notes that I'm looking for to fill some gaps in the personal collection.

I agree, I was going to go estimate $20 but sometimes you just dont' know...things go for way more or way less than you expect.

When I was young and broke I carried a $5 bill in my wallet for years with 5 ones (aces) in the serial number that I used in games of "Liars poker" at the local pubs....made a lot of pocket cash and got a lot of free beers with it.

The game goes like this...

First, agree what you are playing for, eg. the bill, a beer, the gal at the end of the bar, whatever..

You both pull a "random" bill out of your wallet and one starts by saying something like "I have a pair of 5's" (within the serial number)

If you believe him, you must then beat his pair of 5's by saying something like " I have three 6's."

It goes back and forth with each hand beating the other until one person says "I think you're lying"...then the one accused of lying has to show his bill's serial number. If he has what he said he had, he wins. If he doesn't, you win.

1 = Ace
0 = 10
no face cards
no flushes

straights and full houses are ok
5,6 or more of a kind are ok

hand ranking is the same as card poker

Sorry, I've played lots of liars poker, some say I'm a proffessional. I was talking about finding out about paper money values. I do a lot of coin roll hunting and clicked on this section by mistake. But I am interested in learning more afte reading some of the posts.

An interesting serial number, but is this really a ladder?

From what I understand, a true ladder is 123456789. A true downladder is 987654321.

An radar ladder would be 123454321 or 345676543 where the numbers go up, then down.

Your note is very nice, though, all those 2's in a row, and the decline of the numbers between 3 and 0 overall.

I'd keep it.

You are using a nine-digit number for your definitions of 'true' ladders, and U.S. serial numbers are only eight digits. I would consider any serial number that continues increasing or continues decreasing to be a ladder.

Oh, also... "wpg" said 123456789 etc is a true ladder. Umm, wouldnt there only
be like a few then ? 123456789, 987654321, 234567890, 098765432 etc. Unless
wrap-arounds would be true ladders too. lol.

(I know that 9 numbers is incorrect ) I assume bills with these super ladders would
be worth good $$ though.

No, sorry I guess I didn't say it right. I agree, my note is not a true 8 digit ladder (or downladder) but the digits all decrease (and repeat) so I still consider it a descending ladder serial. And yes, notes with serials like x12345678x or x23456789x are definitely worth a LOT of money, much more than my note.
