Got my new Safari yesterday. Did all the assembly and instruction reading and charged the battery overnight.
Today I was able to do some bench testing to check out the sounds and numbers.
The number thing is all new to me.
After that took it out into the yard for a spin. Started out in the coin mode, a lot more noise than I remember with my old Groundhog, but not too bad. I did have a solid hit and tone for a coin and dug a new penny about 5". Nice to know it all works.
Then played around in Coin/ Jewelry and with all the trash in my yard a lot of noises.
Also got a tip to try blocking everything from 29 down for strictly coin hunting, that cuts way down on noise and of coarse nickels and rings are gone , but my second good target in the yard was a clad dime about 4-5" , so it's a working option also.
Now that I have hands on with the way to discriminate unwanted targets "numbers" out I will be experimenting and find what works best in the area I'm detecting in.
Still have to plant my detector garden and use it as a way to test settings.
