Re: Got the new replacement for the excal 2 in today

Can you post a pic of the prongs on the new one so others can compare what they have. I am glad you got the new one and prey it works well for you after you fighting your instincts to not get in the water.

Re: Got the new replacement for the excal 2 in today

Let me explain it better.. my battery pack is on the inside of my right arm..the controls are on the outside of my right arm.. now back to the battery pack on the inside of my right arm.. when you would plug in the charger.. theres three holes, on the older excal, the hole setup is two holes side by side on the inner side of the battery and the single hole closest to my right arm.. well its opposite on the new battery pack.. just thought that was odd. later I will take a picture to show ya.

Re: Got the new replacement for the excal 2 in today

Test results on new excal.. I am just about ready to blow a gasket..

heres the testing I did..with both new and old battery..

test results

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I tested the new excal again today.. so far this is the results..
using the entire new set up.
I planted

gold ring
silver chain with medal
silver ring

nail passed coil over nail, nulls out.. which is good, threshhold hum still there when coil is removed from target.

However on the gold ring, silver chain and silver ring.. pass coil over target get signal.. remove coil no sounds at all.. pass silent coil over these targets get signal..again removed no threshhold at all...dead silent.

volume knob does work..

took old battery fully charged off other excal 2

did exact test..
nulls on iron TH hum returns when not on target.

did the gold ring, silver chain/medal and silver ring. get target signals remove coil from target and threshhold sounds are there..

so it appears it either my new battery and or charger.. I have the new battery hooked up to my old charger to see if its the charger..

And have a call into Minelab AGAIN. am seriously getting really pissed off.

Call or e-mail Kathi Warren ( [email protected] )--she is the one who got the ball rolling for me. There is a fella there by the name of Ewout Kozel who ( I think ) is head of customer service. He never returned my call--maybe he was off--I always give the benefit of the doubt. Things look ok for me I hope--I'll let you know what happens on my thread---GOOD LUCK--Boog

but see, since my first excal, had problems but I worked around em..to use it...so I dont really know how a good working excal is supposed react? is this normal?

I, for one, don't really understand what you are trying to say the detector did. Maybe you could restate it in a different way so it could be better understood what the excal is doing or not doing.

thanks

In using the new Excal and you pass the coil over the accepted targets the detector responds positive but on moving the coil away the threshold doesn't come back either high or low isn't normal from the other Excals.

I just saw this post. Unfortunately, it's difficult for me to monitor the forum all the time with my other business and the baby. I am the one who sold Rae the 1st machine originally. From what I understand, Minelab tested the other two in Chicago first then sent them to her.
I must say I am shocked to learn that she is now on her third machine, and still having problems. :icon_scratch:
I emailed the V.P. of operations to get this taken care of. I received a reply back right away saying, "that it would be resolved by the end of the day."

Rae, I will give you a refund if you'd like.

I don't know what else to do. :dontknow: I do know I stand behind ever one of my customers. And other dealers customers.

Seems strange that the Sov GT never has this problem of the threshold not coming back or coming back at a higher volume, only the Excal II. I don't think I will buy another Minelab Excal and hope mine keeps working as well as it has been, but mine is the Excal 1000 before the "green thing."

Could it be strange battery packs nowdays.......

On th beach, my threshold keeps changing from high tone, to a brief mid-tone, to a low tone where it seems to want to stay.

I couldn't get it to repeat that at the Kellyco office, but they said it sounded like a normal thing for the Excal II.

No refund at all Mike, no no no way.. ML is truly the only way to go.. chit happens, Gary called me today ( sent you a pm) I am NOT giving up on ML..they are they only machines I use and I still think they are the best out there.. so either way, its all gonna get resolved.. both Gary and Ewout were very nice and it will all work out in the end and I will have a good working excal.. so I am not worried now at all.. infact I am impressed with all that went down today with your help and Gary calling.

ps. told Gary was taking her out tonite again.. will adjust if need be, but by god am not giving up at all.. and have the sov. gt with me too incase I start to hurt..

I am glad things are being resolved with the Excal II. Keep me up to date please. :coffee2:

LOL. OK.

I'm glad they got back with you.
Please let me know if I can help you in any other way.

Mike

As far as the battery prongs, the black sticker wrap over the end comes off pretty easy, remove set screws, rotate the end to preferred position, maybe add a little grease to the o-ring and re-assemble (just like the AA-pack).

Untill you get a handle on what really is going on, why not try passing the coil
near your scoop after you pass ovet a good target to regain the threshold and see
how that works out.

On machine number 2 that didnt work either.. I have had 3 machines while all this has been going on..there was a major problem with the threshhold..machine number 4 came and works like a dream machine.. so ML busted their butts to get me a good working one.

Bootybay what ever was the result on your Excalibur... We were waiting for your post but never saw one ??

i dont care who you are....

you just cant beat service like this...Mike at Woodland....

PS...should be somewhere around St. Petes tomorrow with the excall and gt...gettin it....
