Friend of mine called me up lastnight, who lives in the sticks, he was cleaning up the property and said " are you coming out" I'll make it worth your while... I said oh??

Anyway, haven't processed it yet and gone to the scrap yard, but I got a pile of #2 Insulated wire, couple of BBQ's, a lawmower complete with engine, 30 pounds of aluminum capacitors, the kind that are found in streetlights. Various stereo equipment, brake rotors.

Should keep me busy for a couple of days... I'm saving the copper and aluminum for the winter, the rest of the stuff I'm gonna get rid of as I don't have room for all the tin.

;D

Your right. You did hit the mother lode. Should be worth a pretty penny at the scrap yard/recycling center. Hope you find a few more.

What are you going to do with the lawnmower? Is it more valuable for parts or for scrap? What metal does it contain? My neighbor is junking one. It's sitting out there now -- won't start.

the older aluminum capacitors.no one will buy them knowing that they have hazardous PCB's in them.same goes for ballasts out of flourescent lights.the EPA doesnt like that stuff being ground up in scrap metal and leaking into the ground at scrap yards.if you value your drinking water from city wells.you shouldnt either.this stuff should go to someone who can deal with the hazmat stuff.
