Well, I went to the Rutland MA town wide sale and it sucked. 200+ yardsales and too much was overpriced junk
A few finds here and there but wow way too many people . Lesson learned

This Sunday was much better only a few yard sales but I found a few cool things

Nice finds mjlalt!

Looks like that owl is from "Jason and the Argonauts".

What do you guys do with all of your finds? I have boxes full of stuff I have picked up at garage sales and eBay is killing me in fees...not to mention the multitude of non-paying buyers lately. Who does that?

Nice finds. I like the owl, whatever it is. Is the head detachable or is it hinged? How big is it?
As far as boxes full of stuff goes... join the crowd. I've tried to buy quality over quantity but I can't resist buying something I can make $10-$20 off of that only costs .50-$1. I have an out building, a spare bedroom and a couple storage units full of stuff. Somebody stop me!! I really need to slow down a bit I think.

The head is hinged and he is about a foot tall . I figured out he is an ice bucket (he is missing the insert)

I found him, he had a plastic insert. Some are made in Italy and some in Japan from what i've found. Cool find, he should clean up okay, looks like.

That Eskimo fan you should well with. I buy all I can find that I can afford. They are very easy to restore and restoration usually costs about $5-$10. Of course I have a ready made buyer down the street from me. Plus, even if you don't have a buyer, those vintage fans make the best fans to own.

You are speaking the truth. Every fan I own is all metal construction and built like a brick outhouse.

Maybe we need to start a junkaholics support group forum :laughing7:

FYI Looks like my owl is made in Hong Kong

I beg your pardon. My stuff is not junk. It's, it's , uhh ? ? ? well on second thought... :laughing7:

I think the fact that it was made in Hong Kong will help put a date on it. I'm thinking early-mid 1970's.

I think the word you're looking for is Junque. :angel3:

Old man at the flea market told me call it junk. If you call it merchandise nobody will buy it....

I'm selling a lot of my 'stuff' on ebay. Yeah there are fees, so I price it high enough to make it worth my while.
and I do add shipping & handling, not just straight shipping to help cover some of the fees.

I've had one of the medium sized fans for 30 yrs. Just remember to oil it every spring. I've got mine set on a tall dresser to keep little hands out of it. I don't know how many of those 20 buck box fans I've gone through in 30 years.
