Apparently a creative person punched a smiley face into a jar lid in the early 1900's. I found this in the field where I found the 1910 Canadian quarter. It made me smile all these years later. Hope it makes you smile to on this hot August night. Have a great weekend everyone.

Made me smile!:hello2:

Like it, Thanks!

That's great. I would keep that. Congrats.

I'm liking it, thanks for sharing the smile.

That might have been a 22 target. If so a very good shooter.

That's a really neat find! I've got a 19th century primer/textbook that had amusing doodles of the teacher and a pencil rubbing of a Seated Liberty dime (1877 or something). Not really worth anything but personal creations never intended to be preserved like your lid are truly lovely and interesting things. I have an elaborate scrapbook too that includes a piece of dried wedding cake from 1921, a stick of Wrigley's gum, small bar of palmolive soap etc. Fun stuff, thanks for sharing!

A pre digital smiley face emoji... I'll give a digital thumbs up to that!

Unique and very nice :icon_thumleft:

I'd say someone made a shaker dispenser out of a mason jar , maybe to spread garden seeds. A real keeper for sure.
