I needed a box to mail Out a package this weekend. In the box with the trash with this thing, i had no idea what it was. Or if it even worked. But it works fine its a time clock!!!

I've never picked the trash before. I may go back!

One of the very first things I sold on Ebay was something I found. I was at the swap meet, back when it was mostly old stuff. When I found this watch on the ground. It had a cheapo Speidel band, so I just started to throw it back down, but I noticed how heavy it was for its size. The watch itself turned out to be a Cartier watch!! The case was gold over sterling silver, I forget the actual model it was. I took it to a watch shop, he said it was not a Cartier, but I could trade for any of his watches. No thanks. I got $216.00 for it back in 1999, would have been a lot more with the original Cartier band.

Its a time clock for work. I find stuff in the trash all the time an turn around and sell it. I love the clueless thrift store down the road from me. They throw better stuff away sometimes then what they have inside. Good find, should get ya a couple bucks.

Dude I have found 14k gold on the ground twice this year. It happens!

I pulled some vintage silk scarves out of the dumpster at an estate sale. I recently sold 3 of them for just over $400 combined. The Gucci sold for close to $300 by itself.

Never would have though! One of my sellers has totes full of them. I may have to dig through them

Gucci, Hermes, Louie Vuitton, the top 3 names when it comes to scarves. All 3 had small ink bleed stains too because they got wet in the dumpster. Dry cleaning didn't take it out.

Almost one year ago to the day, I was at an estate sale, and the workers were carrying boxes out to a dumpster. "Hey, let me look through those" I yelled.

I found some three ring binders with automobile ephemera in one of those boxes. We've split the binders up and listed those papers separately. I haven't kept track of the total, but am guessing that we've sold at least $700, and the total is probably closer to $1,000.

I also found a copy of a book that I've been wanting for years that traditionally has sold for $55 to $85 on the bay, but I was too cheap to buy one. I was more excited to find that book than I was finding the binder!!

My "dumpster" finds are off the charts this year & I don't even really dumpster dive. I bet I'm flirting with $10K in free finds this year alone. This is stuff people leave near the dumpsters not what's actually in the dumpsters at my favorite auction.

Years ago I use to make good money visiting a local Staples dumpster every other day that was right by me. They threw away anything that was just slightly damaged or outdated. Damaged packages of CDR's, DVDR's (the discs were fine the plastic they were sold in was what was damaged), Microsoft display signs, office chairs, batteries, computer software, printer photo paper, folding leg office tables & on & on. I quit going there when I moved 8 miles away 6 years ago.

I use to get a lot of packing material from a Pier 1 dumpster because almost everything they have comes in bubble wrap. If your into repairing things there was never a shortage of nice large items like furniture that had a broken piece of glass or was nicked up in a spot or damaged in a minor way that you could take these things & fix them & resell. I didn't have the time or the space for doing all that nor would I have wanted to even if I did have the space tho someone could have almost made a nice living off doing just that.

I always peep inside a dumpster if its right by me but I don't go out of my way to look in them anymore except for Wednesday's at the auction. Yes I'm a trash maniac on Wednesday's I admit it & it's paid off very well!
