Got out to the beach this morning for a little and I was surprised to find 8 more rifle bullets. That makes a total of 14 bullets from the same area. Very unusual I think to be at a higher end resort beach. Found a extra small ring with a real diamond in it, (checked with diamond tester) wife said its a promise ring or something like that. Could see any markings to see if it is gold or not. Fishing weights, modern coins, corroded chain, and extra small metal punch outs that drove me crazy finding. And tons of trash. Had a great time regardless.

If the diamonds real it has to be precious metal.

Congrats! Sounds like you had a nice day! Love the ring!

Thanks backoftheboat, the band is so small and thin I didn’t see anything even with a loop. I’ll clean it up and check again.

Thanks Lenrac2, yep I had a great day, actually anytime I am on the beach with my detector has always been great. I might not get the big finds and that is ok in my books, it is the journey…

Nice work rich...glad you got a nice ring...congrats !!

Thanks bart, its a work in progress. I am starting small and working my way up, its a process:laughing7:

Nice finds Rich! Finding 14 rifle bullets in the same area is pretty strange. See many deer wandering around there?

Thanks Sandcrab! No deer anywhere near that area. This beach is at a very crowded area, all roads and buildings. On the FL. gulf beach at a higher end resort. It is really strange that I am finding theses rifle bullets there. Has to be coming from the gulf waters, is only thing I can think of. I do know the shrimpers and crabbers have been at war against each other as far back as I can remember growing up here. It just does not make sense all these rifle bullets in one small area. :dontknow: :icon_scratch:

Yeah, I was j/k about the deer Rich. Once a bullet settles to the bottom and then sinks a few inches into the liquid sand, it is going to take some serious current to move it very far. You would understand the local currents much better than me though. Strange event for sure.

I once found a larger amount of bullets in one area along a river - neighbor suggested a tree was used for target practice then rotted away leaving the lead. Lead loaded driftwood on your beach?

I love the ring! Oh and those metal cutouts drive me nut. So many this year

lots of bullets in one spot maybe someone sighted in a rife long ago

Thanks claire! Yep, those metal cutouts that small go right through my scoop and it drives my nuts. Always want to find my digs no matter how big or small cause ya never know.

Could be mark. Had to have been a very long time ago. Molewacker had the same idea. It just seems strange where they were found, I might be over thinking it. Do not think the bullets are that old, going to try to date them out of curiosity.:icon_scratch:
