well after several weeks of trying to set up a hunt, i got out with Bob today. we hunted a local park that used to be a camp at one time in its history. this park is pretty much picked clean at this point, but we did manage a few keepers. i got these two Indian head pennies, an 1888 and an 1867. in my blue book the 67 is listed at $22 in G4, which made me happy! I'm not sure what this one would grade at (probably not to good) but for me its still a nice find! Bob really cleaned up today, but i will let him post his own stuff. ;) keep an eye out for his finds later on! i thought about doing the peroxide treatment on these pennies but I'm afraid i will just make them worse. has anyone ever tried the peroxide method on Indians? for now i am going to leave them as they are. at any rate, it was a Saturday well spent!

Yea, Keith. It was a good day. Will have to get together on a Sunday to hunt one of those other places we talked about. I only tried the peroxide treatment once before and it didn't seem to do much for me. Maybe Don in South Jersey will respond. I think he likes to use the peroxide method.

Nice indians.
I use the peroxide method with great results.
I found that heating the peroxide in the microwave
helps the cleaning process along. Someone on Tnet
gave me that advice.

Keith

Be sure to show us those two IH's after you cleaned them. You might be surprised how good they will appear.

Lot of good finds for a picked over area
