we tried the dogbone one site again and ended up digging 50+flat buttons , but nothing rev war this time.I dug 2 worn coppers T-Roy got one and Dave dug a worn real. I spied this on top of the ground, nice honey colored gun flint, thought it was pretty cool.
Then in the same area I dug the dogbone I thought I had another one. Looking at the back I said oh yeah. Turned it over and realized no number on it, crapp! Instead the button has a star, Dave found one in the area on a previous trip. I firmly believe these SC troops were wearing these. Burning of the field over the yrs caused the pewter to get hot and fold up I guess. Hey Leonard can you help me out on this one? Here's what I saw when I first dug the button.

I did get lucky and found the only military button. It's not rev war just a little later , still made me happy.Had fun T-Roy and Dave and I hope everybody that got out found something nice.
