I agree with Rock..I want to see some close ups...those look really nice!

006.JPG007.JPG008.JPG009.JPGhow that bevel look

Is it a Dovetail?

not sure rock the base sure does look like one but the bevels on booth sides do not go with that dovetail type i dont think

got some nice cores too,or attemps at making points,i like to keep them too.it shows ya how they start to reduce the rocks i think if you would like to see them ill get them out of the car and show ya

I found what looked to be a broken celt today but it was made out of quartzite so I am thinking maybe a broken mano on mine. It was snapped rite down the middle by the disc. Maybe the other half will show up when it rains.

even found a sheild nickle trying to clean it up to get the date but they stopped making them in 1863 i think

I enjoy looking at all artifacts. Points of course are the sexiest but the tools were the everyday artifacts.

I could be wrong but, I believe that they were made from 1866 to 1883. But always nice to find!

Mighty nice fines there! That one at the bottom of the first two photo's sure is a dandy. :icon_thumleft: on the shield nickle!

thanks yall,do not thank ill get a date off of the nickle but still pretty old i guess, thanks old digger what would you call it.

oh thanks GaRebel

Fantastic looking points Jamey. I am envious of the areas you hunt. Super rich in history. Love that beveling if the ears where there it would be worth a lot. Heavy use on it, my guess would be lost lake with that beveling. You see it more from where you are at towards Kentucky and up. You always find the best stuff. Imagine that celt whole it would be a museum piece.
Have you been metal detecting any?

Nice finds Jamey, love that celt.
Nickles and legible dates never seem to get along...
Congrats on your finds.
