Got my NOX 600 TODAY!

I would start with Park1. Noise cancel and auto ground balance. Place recovery speed on 2. Power at 21. Go slow, have patience, takes time to learn a new detector.

Have fun, post questions and good luck!

I got it new from amazon, do I need to do the upgrade people are talking about?

Not absolutely necessary, but if you have time recommended. Once you have downloaded the software and attached your detector it will tell you if it has the most recent software or needs the upgrade.

Congrats on your new toy!!!

Park 1 or 2
Noise cancel
Auto ground balance or leave it on zero for now
Sensitivity 18-21
Recovery and iron bias settings really depend on the site but for now just run the stock settings until you get some hours on your machine
50 tones might be to much at first?? if so then go to 5 tones...

Ultimately it's all about having fun and enjoying the outdoors... good luck with your new machine!!!

This^ Except I would just stick to Park 1 for now. Each mode behaves a little differently, so no need learning multiple detectors at once by mode hopping. Stick with the defaults. After you noise cancel adjust sensitvity for stable quiet operation and swing away. You can GB if you need to also.

Get familiar with the detector first (take several outings) then try the update later as the detector works fine without it for your purposes. Then you can also start experimenting different modes.
