Got my Infinium back this week. Hooked up my coils to it one by one and it is working fine again. Garrett did some updating to it.
I had broken the pin on the connector for my land headphones, (aftermarket phones with the Garrett connector), I put them in the box also when I sent the Infinium in but they didn't offer to fix them even for a price. They just said it wasn't their headphones. I didn't carry the conversation on that any further. I will convert those to a 1/4 inch plug for my other detectors and buy a new set of land phones. I can only find the land phones on the Garrett site. I am wondering how the guy I bought the Infinium from got the Garrett connector put on the Shadow phones it was water tight so whoever did it, did it right. I will use the water phones for now but those bad boys are loud with no volume control.
It's winter here in Central Florida now. Beach hunting is still comfortable with no issues but the surf up this way is too cold to stay in for any length of time so I am looking at wet suits. Santa may bring me one. I probably need one anyway because once I get in the water, I usually don't come out for hours.
I hope to hunt a little this weekend but not sure I will make it. I will post if I do!!
Thinking now about SCUBA for next year or a HOOKAH Rig. I think the Hookah would probably work fine since I have no desire to do deep water dives and would be mainly working swimming holes, docks and the like.
Never thought it would come to all this back in the late 80's when my old boss gave me that old BFO detector of his and got me hooked.
