Got me stuped...thats nothing new

Found 14" deep in coal pile from the 1800s blacksmith shop in my yard. I made the tiny hole near the apex of the dome to attach the electrolysis lead. The round copper colored part on top spins. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for looking.
