Got me a Classic Sl Idx and looking for tuning info?

Hello All so I got a classic sl idx and and liking it alot. stopped on the way home at a park and found 65 cents and a matchbox car.
My question is, what the best way, if any to tune out aluminum better and still find coins and what not.
I have studied the book for it and under stand it, but looking for some hands on info on using the IDX.

any tips on what to listen for would be amazing.
