Was talking to a CRH buddy of mine this morning and he was telling how he was selling off some of his 40%ers to buy some old commemoratives. 10 minutes later I walked into a BOA and plucked this Maine Centennial from a tray and 28 40%ers, 1-1964 and a Walker from $60 CWR. I thought it was a foriegn coin when I glanced at it walking to my car. This is my first low mintage commemorative. It's out there!

Congrats! That is a hard one to find. Second one I have seen here! Very low mintage and worth some nice bucks.

Awesome find. I love the classic commemorative and Maine is definitely one you don't find in a dealer's inventory no less the wild. Congratulations.

Love those early commemoratives! Yours appears to be in good condition too.

A damn shame that only you have only received 155 views and 3 replies as of this posting. Most here won't ever see one of these in their CRH'ing career. Meanwhile, others with dangling carrot threads get 800+ views and 25 replies. Your find is far superior than just a pile of common junk silver.

Can you post better pictures without the flash splash and the shadow creeping across? I'm heading to a Black Friday coin show this weekend, and I might just have to acquire one of these.

Congrats... Way to get them when u know they are there.

Very cool com half. Never seen one before. Congrats.

What a superior find! I bet you did the happy dance on that one. I know I would have almost fainted right then and there in the bank. And setting in a teller's tray to boot. Wow!

Epic, after hundreds of thousands of halves searched, I have yet to find even a common clad commemorative.

Very nice find !!!

Very nice! I've never sean one before.
Add this to my "hope to find" list.

You have to clue us in to your hunting grounds so we can seed some half dollars with the Statue of Liberty clad half.

Lol...I found 15 of those in a box last spring.

I miss proofs regularly - I see them when I dump - everyone could have missed a clad comm.

Very nice find. for the uninitiated, that's probably a $100 coin from what I can see through the 2x2 and subpar photos.

Joad, long, long time no hear. Good to see you're still searching and a awesome low mintage find! Congrats!

Another commemorative, sweet! gives me hope I can find one someday. congrats

That is awesome! The only comms I have we're purchased... Would love to fill my album up with finds!!! You should be able to feel my jealousy from there! Good times!

Wow... How excited were you when you pulled that one? That Is worth a happy Dance or sure..

Excellent find! Congrats!

Hi Joad,
That is truly an amazing find while coin roll hunting. Very, very rare that anyone would
ever find something like that in the wild. I couldn't be happier for you as that is a once
in a lifetime score. The mintage of that coin is only 50,028 and judging from your photos
I would grade it just about at XF. Thanks for posting it for all the young members to see.
Glad to see some of the old timers showing back up. Congrats again on a winner!
