good machine, you're going to find some good stuff. At the beach your best luck will be to stay on the dry sand. The MXT doesn't go from dry to wet, or even do well on wet beach sand. It's a single circuit machine and I don't really understand how it works, but the DFX has two circuits and handles wet dry seamless, but the MXT doesn't. My MXT gave me lots of false signals on wet beach sand. That said, I've had good luck at the beach with my MXT, but stayed on the dry sand. I purchased the DFX just so I could go onto the wet beach sand. Someone else might be able to explain the reason for that better than I can.

Easy fix!! Just punch a couple of holes in a beer cozy and wire tie it to your machine!! Put it under your arm cuff bracket and it'll help balance your detector. That also leaves room for your bacon pouch lower on the shaft!!
