I had some of this pretty chrysocolla in sugar quartz and everytime I grinded in little chips would break off so I figured it would have to be stabilized to be able to get a polish, I decided to sprinkle some placer gold in the mix, I only have 5000 grit sandpaper so I can't give it that mirror shine yet but I thought I'd post it and see what you all think, pretty cool? 20201124_125439.jpg20201124_125530.jpg

Going to be a handsome piece. Ya might want to consider getting a buffer and some rubbing compound to shine it up, sand paper is good but I'd be concerned about eating to far into that finish. Hope ya remember to show us the finished stone.

Thanks guys, DDancer, I ordered 50,000 grit lap paste, probably wont have it for a week but after I get it I'll give it a shine and I'll post the finished results.

Mostly done, I lost my felt attachment and I'm to lazy to go get one today on my day off but I put some paste on the back of a piece of leather and rubbed it around for 10 to 15 minutes, it needs a touch up when I get off my butt and get a felt attachment but here's the mostly finished cabochon. 20201201_110517.jpg20201201_110604.jpg20201201_110447.jpg

Thanks fuss, I appreciate it, it was a little easier in my head to pull off than in reality but it turned out pretty good I think as well.
