GOT A STORY! TRUE?? "free rings and silver"
When I was a kid many years ago, one of our family trips was to Nevada, staying in Reno heading to Virginia City my Dad would say,"a lot of people get married in Reno, they also get a divorce it has been known that after they leave the court house after the final divorice they would throw their wedding rings into the Truckee River".
True or not ? however about 30-35 years ago i heard there was a fella dredging in the Truckee River, in Reno, was getting rings, silver dollars and whatever else, till he was kicked out by the city.
This story has always intrigued me.
can anyone verify the story? i have been in Reno and have seen a S**T load of coins in the river looking over the bridge, there were even some bums wading in the water picking up fresh ones. lordy lordy
