Stopped in at one of my local branches yesterday and they didn't have any halves for me, but one of the tellers who had already gone home had some Ike rolls. Since she wouldn't be back till tomorrow the others left a note for her to hold onto them.

Well I picked them up this afternoon before work.

$80 in handrolls yielded:

1 1976-S 40% Ike! Very impaired Proof but love finding big silver!

Also checked for varieties but none were located.

After saying I hadn't gotten any varieties, I went onto to Coneca's website to check some of their variety listings, then rechecked the Ike's and found 2 1972 Type III reverses. Not the rare Type II reverse but rarer than the Type I. One of the two would grade MS-63 so I'll take it. Also got a 1976-D Type I but it's pretty beat up.

If you want to see the differences in the type's here's a link to Coneca's variety forum http://board.conecaonline.org/showthread.php?t=2729

dang! thats a very rare find! good job. i have only located a total of 6 ike dollars so far in my crhing career, none being silver! :(
