Found a 1928 $100 'Numeral Note' yesterday. I'll try to get pics up tonight or tomorrow. Not terribly circulated either. It'll go well with my 1928 $50 Numeral Note I found a couple years ago.

For those that dont' know, these notes are a difficult type note to obtain let alone purchase at face value. They were only printed for a short time for series 1928 and have a large numeral instead of a large letter inside the FRB seal.

Read this for more info on the 1928-x series FRNs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series_of_1928_(United_States_Currency)

Nice find. I only have one note like this and it's a $10. These are the so called gold notes right? Did you know they released $4,200,000,000 worth of these bills back in 1942. I didn't until just now, check it out - http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,884563,00.html

They are the "fool's gold notes" as in they are NOT gold certificates, however they state on them that they can be redeemed in gold. Somewhat confusing. Interesting article, too, thanks for posting.

Nice find, Dr. You must be hunting 'em hard lately. You've had some nice scores.

Wouldn't you know it someone spent this one at my housemate/roommate's shop. He called me to let me know they had it and I stopped by after work to grab it! But yeah I still do my fair share of treasure hunting :laughing7:
