Got a new F2 with extras

I ordered A Fisher F2 Monday from Texas Premium Detectors and it came in today. It came with 8 and 4 inch coils, decent headphones,Fiskars trowel,apron, and an F pointer. I played around with it using the 4 inch coil just doing air tests. This thing is really cool. I am amazed at how light it is. My newest detector before this one is a Fisher 1260 that I bought in '84, It is still like new but I have wanted to try a VDI machine for a long time and I decided I would buy the F2 with my tax return. I am retiring this summer and will hopefully have more time to detect. I plan on getting a Minelab in the near future. I can't figure out how to get the battery cover off the F pointer. Can somebody help?

You have to kinda wiggle and pull...Its tough till u break onre of the tabs:-) And if you put in on backwards it'll fall off... I'm get'n a pro pointer soon as poss.

Yeah, pretty tough to get off. Finger and thumb on both sides, squeeze while you pull.

Thanks, I got it off without breaking the tabs! It ain't built for rough handling, but it was basically a freebee.

congrats on your new detector! I am really enjoying my F2 it seems to be a coin magnet. I sniffed out a clad quarter at what seemed like a foot deep yesterday. Let us know how you like the F2 compared to your older fisher model after you spend some time with it.

Sounds like the deal I got. Mine arrives next week and I can't wait. I think I should have went with a faster shipping option.

You are gonna love that F2! My first time out with my new one (I had one 3 years ago but didn't take the time to really know it) I found 51 coins in 2 hours using the 4" coil, on a spot I've hit alot with other detectors. The pinpointing is dead on, and the small coil is amazingly deep for it's size. HH

Just ordered one of these with a regular and 4" head and extra goodies for my Wife. She wants to MD where as I want to prospect. She has wanted a MD for a few years now. Can't wait till it comes in as she has no idea I got it for her. I suspect she will be coming to these forums after she gets it...lol.
