Got a Good Find

Hello everyone. I’ve been fighting that damn Covid for about 6 days. I’m tired of being isolated in my room and since I feel better I decided to hit a fort about 40 minutes away from my home. I found a US Great Coat button and some musket balls before digging up this cool piece. It’s an 1830s era hand made lead smoking pipe still stuffed with tobacco. Didn’t realize what it was until I cleaned it up when I got home. Anyway I’m super FIRED UP up about it. Thanks for checking it out and happy hunting!!

the lead is toxic enough that the microbes were not able to destroy the tobacco , I've dug civil war buttons with cloth still attached for the same reason, the metals protect it from the microbes.
