Got out and about with my Dad today and met up with LowBatts too!
We only hunted with LowBatts for a little while, and I don't believe anyone got anything good during that time but it was definitely cool to hang out for awhile. Tim, you definitely know your treasure stories inside and out! I wish we couldn't have got some good ones, they'll be there waiting for us next time.
Only two of the 4 or 5 places we went to today produced old coins. My highlight of the day is the indian head penny found within a loop of copper wire! I was getting a decent 12-33 signal that was showing 4-5" deep. When I pinpointed the signal was kind of large, but I didn't think much of it at the time... there WAS a lot of trash here and there at this place, so I just decided to dig a nice big hole. Well when I opened it up I saw this huge loop of wire in the hole, which was ringing lower like 12-28. I thought there had to be something else in the hole because it was a great high tone. Well after I pulled out the wire there was an indian right off center a bit. I put it back where approximately where I found it in the last picture, although it was UNDER the wire. I did end up scratching it, because of the wire... but that's the way the cookie crumbles. It's still a great penny though!
