Copper nickle ??? Indian head penny
1859-1864 Indian Heads were composed of .880 copper and .120 nickel and were thicker(fatty) and weighed 4.67 grams vs. the later Indian Heads at 3.11 grams. You will know immediately if you've dug a "fatty" as it will feel obviously thicker compared to any other small cents,

Purty. Love when you pick them out of the dirt, you can tell that they weigh just a little bit more than the average penny. Rare in Colorado

VERY NICE!!! First year of the Indian Head Cent! I'd like to find one of those ~ 1859 was the year Oregon became a state ~ my home state!
