Made the 24 mile round trip after I got up today at 1pm and hunted the home site again. It's going to take a few more trips as I haven't covered the site completely yet and I want to cover it twice. Today's finds were an 1859 fattie and an 1864 2 cent piece.

The nice thing is when I done with this site there is another site a couple hundred yards away in the same corn field. This has been a good site for me. I've found 10 coins in 5 hrs and the newest coin was 1865. It would be even better if I could dig a seated or bust silver coin. Last year I took a friend out in the field behind my house and he got an 1824 bust dime. I think it was his first bust silver and he was tickled.

nice coins. I doubt you will ever truly be "done" with that field.

Not bad looking coins, especially coming from a corn field

Great looking coins there Phil! Looks like that field
will be worth returning to after each plowing. :notworthy:

They don't plow much here. Most of the farmers use the no-till farming now. The most they do is chisel plow which doesn't really work the soil deep.

Great job on the old coins. Nothing better than being out in a field swinging with the sound of silence, and then BANG getting a signal. :icon_thumleft:
Congrats,
MM
