Well, I finally got away from the business today, and spent the morning
hunting an old resort area in the Colorado Rockies. It's been hunted fairly
hard over the years, but there's still a few goodies. I wonder how many
times that Merc had been walked over. Notice the rust spot... a nail was
laying right across the dime. The XLT said 82 on one swing, and 06 on the
return swing. It was a good enough signal, that I had to dig it. Kind of run
of the mill finds, but it was great to get out again. My arm feels like that
post that had the Hercules arm in one of the pictures. Truly, youth is
wasted on the young! I need some opinions on the owl piece. It appears to
be the half toungue of a womens, victorian style, belt buckle.
Well, here's some pics for about 4 hours of hunting.

Nice finds! I have a senior key almost identical to that one...only it has a 73 on it!

Hello Slabman!
GoldenRoyBoy here from Trinidad; a little south of you probably. It has been a gorgeous day! Great job detecting! I went out this morning but did not fair near as well as you but the sky was and is still blue! :)

Holler at me if you ever come down this way!

Hey GRB,
I LOVE Trinidad!! About 10 years ago, a couple of buddies and myself
went down to Trinidad for a long weekend, and concentrated on Kit
Carson Park. We had been told that it was hunted to death, but we
figured there would still be some goodies. The hunt was unbelievable.
We all got a handfull of silver, and a couple of very old gold rings. And
such a nice clean park! Hardly any trash at all. Just nice mellow, deep
target sounds. I've been wanting to plan another trip down that way
anyway, cause I've got an aunt that lives in Raton. Maybe we'll have to
hook up, and go find a mining camp or two.
