Gordon Lightfoot

One of 5 artist I have on my iPad when I'm riding. Actually went thru all of them on a trip from St. Louis, MO to Galena, IL. last wkend.

Thought you weren't a fan of folk/country music? Gordon is a great songwriter!!

I'm actually not ! :tongue3:

can't say he has anything else I know.
for some reason sundown got a ton of play on the rock channels when it first came out.
almost but not quite to the point of over play, and I actually like it .
reminds me of a 1974 love affair

as far as lightfoot, could be a one hit wonder for all I know :dontknow:

So you are unfamiliar with the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald? ???

I'm sure I heard it once or Twice.
I'm familiar with the Name, As I am familiar with Gordon Lightfoot's Name

Dude, I'm a little disappointed with your knowledge on old Gordo, I was under the impression you were a Rock and Roll maven. ???

lol I'm sure there is allot more I don't know.
honesty what I clicked on above was far from R&R in my book.
couldn't get more then 15 seconds on them.
honestly I never understood Sundown on rock stations.
I remember thinking This isn't Rock, but the tune never turned me off like some whiner
singing about his cheatin' horse or yodeler would

....sundown is a soulful kind of tune to me. Lyrics that you don’t have to read, simple and real...
...the song about the Canadian RR is another good one I like..

I like that shipwreck song on Lake Superior :0
