Still digging a vacant lot I have permission for. I found 10 wheats, a Merc and a banged-up bracelet. The bracelet isn't marked but tests positive for silver! I also found a "US Indian Service" button. Its banged-up as well but I am still pleased with it. Finally, I dug a "trench lighter" probably from the 1930's. I found a couple videos that talked about their history and showed how these functioned. Its a pretty cool item ...but... its (take a guess) banged-up and missing the fuel chamber cap.
Next, I had high hopes for another vacant lot permission that is next to an old train depot. The land was recently cleared and a small amount of the soil was scraped around. About 5 minutes in I a found a wheat and thought it was looking good. Over the next 4 hours I dug a lot of screw tops and aluminum cans and 35 cents in clad..... I did manage to eyeball an nice marble.
Finally, there is section of a local park that is somewhat hidden from the rest of the park. I found 3 wheats very quick and some old trash like mason jar lids. Eventually, I found an old "Ford Yount" 5-cent token and a cigarette case. I love finding cases like this and the possibility that they might contain something good. When I opened this one some fragments of disintegrated paper fell out, otherwise it was empty. I will be digging more in this section of the park. I discovered a bottle dump about 40 feet inside the woods. It looks to be from the 1940's or so.
Thanks for looking !!
......Edited to add a silver wrist watch frame.......
I remember this watch frame sounding very nice on the Etrac. I didn't think it was silver though.... However, I got some JSP acid this week, and then tonight I saw the watch frame sitting there and decided to test it. Turns out it is silver! Bonus!
